What's New This Year?

The 2021 Cadillac Escalade definitely hit a growth spurt compared to the previous years' models. The massive and impressive redesigned SUV stands at six and a half feet tall, with six and three quarters feet of width and from bumper to bumper, eighteen feet in length. But that's not the only expansion the new vehicle took on. The 2021 model gained a good bit of cargo space and a significant amount of leg room for passengers in the third-row seating. In fact, the quality inside the cabin was improves throughout. The SUV's cabin doesn't get to take all the spotlight of newness, though. An independent rear suspension and newly integrated Super Cruise, which offers drivers across Canton, OH a hands-free driving assistant, also deserve to shine. Finally, and with great excitement, Cadillac introduced the first diesel engine option for the 2021 Cadillac Escalade.

The standard engine in this vehicle this year is a 6.2 Liter V8 engine with 420 horsepower and 460 pounds per foot of torque and is accompanied by a ten-speed transmission. This powerful motor can go from a stand-still to 60 miles an hour in under six seconds. The towing capacity comes to 8200 pounds for the rear-wheel-drive Cadillac Escalade and 8000 for the all-wheel drive option. The RWD has a fuel economy of about 15 miles per gallon in the city and 20 MPG on the highway. The AWD option only loses one MPG from that.

Should you decide you'd rather sport the diesel option around Ashland, OH, you'll certainly be thrilled with the fuel cost difference. In the city, the diesel Cadillac Escalade sips about 21 MPG and 27 MPG when travelling on the highway in the RWD. Again, the AWD option only gets a single MPG less than that. The turbodiesel 3.0 inline six takes a significant horsepower loss at only 277 HP. The diesel maintains the same 460 pounds per foot of torque and ten-speed automatic transmission. Additionally, the less power-hungry diesel can still tow up to 8000 pounds in the RWD option or 7800 with AWD.

Tech and Safety

An available AKG 36 speaker sound system option is amazing to say the least, and the standard system has 19 speakers, still AKG. Select trims include a full color heads up display, or night vision system. A rear entertainment system will keep the whole cabin happy while an augmented reality enabled navigation system helps drivers around Medina, OH reach their destination. Now, lets talk about the new 38-inch, curved OLED, diagonal display that's almost completely digital. This amazing dashboard display has two times the color density of 4K TV and the largest color spectrum in the automotive industry to date.

The safety features that should be highlighted include:

  • the HD Surround Vision integration
  • seven airbags in the front, on the sides and overhead
  • automatic front and rear braking for pedestrians
  • self-tightening seat belts in the event of a collision
  • lane keeping assistance with lane change alert for lane departures.

Trim Level Breakdown

There are five selections of trim levels for the 2021 Cadillac Escalade which are: Luxury, Premium Luxury, Premium Luxury Platinum, Sport and Sport Premium. The Luxury is the base model. The top of the line is tied between the Sport Premium and Premium Luxury Platinum.
