A comparison of size and overall dimensions
The Cadillac XT5 is significantly larger than the XT4. The new Cadillac XT4 is a two-row subcompact crossover with five seats while the new Cadillac XT5 is a two-row compact SUV that also has five seats but it comes with a larger interior. The XT4 is smaller and more maneuverable while the XT5 gives you more interior space. The dimensions of the new Cadillac XT4 and the XT5 are as follows:
- Exterior length: The XT4 is 181.1 inches and the XT5 is 189.6 inches
- Exterior width: The XT4 is 76.7 inches and the XT5 is 74.9 inches
- Exterior height: The XT4 is 64.1 inches and the XT5 is 66.1 inches
- Interior passenger volume: The XT4 has 100.6 cubic feet while the XT5 has 104.5 cubic feet

A comparison of performance
In both the Cadillac XT4 and XT5 Wooster and Medina, OH buyers will find the same standard engine: A 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that gives you 235 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. The Cadillac XT4 delivers 23 MPG in the city and 30 MPG on Ashland and Canton, OH highways compared with the XT5 that can give you 21 MPG in the city and 27 MPG on the highway. So the smaller XT4 comes out ahead in terms of fuel economy but both vehicles can give you up to 3500 pounds of towing capacity.
One area where the XT5 offers an advantage is in terms of engine choices. The Cadillac XT4 offers only a 2.0-liter turbo-four engine while the XT5 also offers an available 3.6-liter V6 with 310 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque. Both the Cadillac XT4 and XT5 come with luxurious, well-appointed interiors as well as a number of standard and available features. The new Cadillac XT5 has an 8.0-inch touch screen, Apple CarPlay®, Android Auto™ and a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot.
